The Kraken

In partnership with Longmont Power and Communications, Longmont Art in Public Places (AIPP) commissions 5-7 artist/artist teams each year to visually transform selected electric boxes into dynamic works of art.

The program, Shock Art, started in 2010 after the success of similar projects in neighboring communities. Each design is submitted in the spring for a public selection process and live painted through out the summer.

In 2017, N Celeste's design "The Kraken" was selected to be painted on an electrical box located on the 1200 block of South Hover Street in Longmont, Colorado. Longmont's AIPP offers maps, walking tours and bike tours to view all public art works including "The Kraken."
